Atheist Philosopher Defends Intelligent Design

Bradley Monton, described by ARN as an atheist philosopher who teaches at the University of Colorado at Boulder, is the author of a forthcoming book titled Seeking God in Science: An Atheist Defends Intelligent Design.

I’m always impressed with those who can look at both sides of an issue in an evenhanded, balanced way, and see both the merits and shortcomings.  The extremely partisan approach is to reject out of hand whatever appears to challenge your position.

  1. Our genealogy began billions of years ago when the earth cooled and spawned life from atoms. The work of nature, time and evolution and thus we are today, a mass of those ancient atoms, contemplating the body and soul of our existence, until death returns us to simpler atomic forms We should be in awe of Gods’most basic creation – the atoms of the universe.$

    • Hi Charles,

I agree with you that God created atoms, but I also think He designed the universe so that life could exist within it. This reminds me of a Moby song — “we’re all made of stars.” : ) It’s a good thing the atoms are around, but I believe we’re more than that — atoms plus a soul.
      Blessings,
      Chris
